Michael Robbins is a proven strategist with executive-level management experience with unique crossover work in government, communications, and corporate leadership. Michael’s experience gives his clients the benefit of a tactician who can navigate them through any challenge, from working in the policy world of Washington, DC to facing the media head-on in a crisis to maintaining a competitive edge in international business strategy. Michael’s diverse leadership roles throughout his career on Capitol Hill, in a leading trade association, as an entrepreneur and small business owner, and in the United States Navy, provide him a set of experiences that have forged his precise approach and capability to manage problem solving for his clients.

A veteran of Capitol Hill, Michael is no stranger to fierce legislative and campaign battles and is also well versed in the art of compromise. He is an effective advocate and spokesperson for his clients, focusing on data analytics and business intelligence to ensure his clients achieve their objectives. In his heart, Michael is a wonk and loves the details of government policy and business strategy, and he knows how to execute to translate his client’s goals into successful outcomes.


Michael previously served as Managing Director of Government and Public Affairs at the Air Line Pilot Association, International (ALPA) and delivered significant results for the association on policy, media, safety, and branding goals. As a former leader in a major aviation trade and labor association, Michael knows how to navigate both the corporate and labor environments.

As Managing Director, Michael’s led ALPA’s Communications, Government Affairs, and Engineering & Air Safety departments, with a team of 70 employees. He steered ALPA’s foray into strategic campaign communications and international public affairs, incorporated pilot advocates into ALPA’s legislative advocacy program, and succeeded in restructuring major elements of the association for operational and budget efficiency and efficacy.

Before joining ALPA in 2011, Michael spent a decade in the office of the late Congressman John Dingell, where he served as the Chief of Staff. During his time working in Congress, Michael worked on issues pertaining to Representative Dingell’s role as Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, specializing in telecommunications, health care, transportation, energy, manufacturing, trade, and government oversight.

In addition to his work for ALPA and on Capitol Hill, Michael is an experienced campaign manager, strategist, and fundraiser. He has managed numerous congressional campaigns and has been involved in multiple statewide and national campaigns that have helped him refine the execution of tactics that effectively serve his clients.

Michael serves on the board of the Greater Washington Aviation Open and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from Georgetown University. He is proudly serving as a commissioned Officer in the United States Navy Reserve.
